I conluded that people tend to go to the movies more than they pirate movies on 123movies however i dont think this is conclusive to weather people pirate or watch movies more as 123movies is just one specific pirating website and "movie theater" is a more general term so it should have more searches in general. Looking at graph 3, it is interesting how much the search for 123movies has grown in more recent years. I think this is because the idea of streaming movies for free online hs become more mainstream and popular. As I assumed, steam went up then dropped a bit as nowadays it has become less popular. interestinly though movies theatres also seem to be more popular now then they did in the mid 2000s. another interesting bit is the yearly cycle that the different trends become more or less popular, All three search trends go up during christmas and black friday. This is probably to sales that come around that time. Steam has its yearly summer, christmas, and summer sales so it spikes a bit at those times. As for both movie platforms, i assume thats when movies come out, around the holiday season so searches to watch these movies increases. Movie theater also spikes at the begining of summer and seems to be higher during that whole time of the year. I think this is beacuse going to the theater is more of an event that people go to, and most kids are busy with schools and cant go see movies, this is shown because the online medium doesn't go up so the actual action of going out and watching a movie must be the contributing factor. In california the searches for movie theater are much higher exept in fresno and bakersfield. This may be because these areas are on average lower income than other parts of california, so they have more reason and affinity for piracy.
